Roof of Africa – exceptional service delivery
I am no stranger to this venue and my only regret is that I do not have the words to express my experiences other than to praise the consistent and exceptional service delivery that you are guaranteed at the Roof of Africa.
I have on numerous occasions enjoyed my Hansa and Jägermeister combinations at the Roof.
At this venue I can always expect to receive a sincere and courteous welcoming - I love this place and want to call it home! The Roof staff accomplishes all this with their ‘all hands on deck’ management, positive team dynamics quite evident. At this popular spot for sundowners, I was honoured to sample the offerings of the grand buffet which is usually on special for N$120 on Sunday’s.
At this stage, I’d like to remind you that after twelve years in the industry I know quality cuisine and can take a very critical position –the food at the Roof was truly worth the time spent in this venue.
I first sampled the house’s trademark Oxtail Stew which got me raring to delve further into the intricacies of my platter. I then tried the homemade thick-noodles which I crowned with garlic soy sauce and scoffed with fresh kraute salad. With a nod of appreciation, I started chatting to the restaurant manager, Terri, who was only too keen to elaborate on their culinary philosophy - using healthy, fresh produce to cater for their deserving clients.
The buffet setup is impressive, offering seven metres of culinary excellence with an array of lovely desserts at the summit. A satisfactory restaurant experience must be evaluated on at least four grounds.
Service and general atmosphere amongst service staff (5/5); the dining environment (5/5); quality of food and beverages (5/5); and an overall sentiment of “did I have fun?”(5/5).
The Roof more than meets the standard. For a group function (set menu N$170p.p.) or sundowners (Hansa, N$17 and glass of wine, N$28) this place is a must. I give the team full marks and I believe this venue is ideal for birthdays, functions and even group overnight stays (N$96.65p.p. in a dorm).
Remember the restaurant opens for breakfast at 06:00 and closes at 23:00.
