There is more to Mr. SimpleDatt
Greetings, it’s 2012 and moving on to another level. This time around I got my hands on a Mr. SimpleDatt with his first 17 track album titled Liberty. From the moment I pressed play the track Medicine caught my attention from the word go I expected to hear more of some good sounds. Listening to the album gave me that feeling of being expecting more from Mr SimpleDatt, and this was confirmed by tracks like Foreigner, the song has got some strong reggae flavor I listened to it every morning for the past week that I had the album. The massage in the lyrics made me think of how we discriminate our fallow Africans not knowing that we will need each other in the end. What goes around does really come around.
What You Call Love has got this flavor that breaks up the album to a different tone, I was hugely impressed by Beulah, the story behind it is that Simple never met her she just heard the song from the studio and featured on it. The song has got some sexiness and smoothness to it. Warrior has got some typical ragga/dance hall beats with a heavy paced base; it can definitely bring a roof of any club down. I love Wako One; it’s like a journey into Uganda, Kenya or Nigeria. These places are full of Afro Dance music which is exactly the type of genre Mr SimpleDatt does. The famous Alick Macheso also adds some singura flavor to the album in Mwana Lyeyu.
Songs like Kudu, Wachepa, Medicine, Mwana Lyeyu, Foreigner, Mari, Maidei, This Feeling to mention but a few can take this album to greater heights. Arafat, Mushe, Maj Beat and Trace had their touches put to the albums production. “The album is available everywhere in the country except for the coast at the moment; we are working hard to get it that side,” said Mr SimpleDatt.
Mr SimpleDatt simply simplified the music in this album to suite your taste. I can just give a little of what you can expect in the album. So it’s up to you to support our own music by running to the nearest let out to grab yourself a copy. Till then, blessings.
